Article by students of Shristi Manipal Institute of Art and Design about "Animal-human Interaction"

A team of students from the Shristi Manipal Institute of Art and Design was given a task to research on Animal-Human Interaction where they contacted our club KRPC and collaborated with one of the Youngest Fancier Satish and here is the result of the article

A part of me that flies

Satish, a software engineer from Bengaluru is also a Pigeon fancier and

pets Pigeons, about 60 of them on his terrace. These pigeons aren’t trapped

but domesticated and cared for as if were a part of him.

He says “ I cannot speak to them verbally, but if I take care of them, they

eventually start believing I’m someone whom they can trust, to whom they

are willing to navigate and come back from thousands of miles, with whom

they have a sense of home.”

Satish in his loft

Imagine, waking up every morning to see all those pigeons take

off into thin air, flying in absolute joy and speeding in circles.

When they are done, they come back to you, pecking you for some

food and water.

It was something so usual for Satish..

Birds going to flight

“THEY HATE RAGI"

But it’s good for them says Satish in a mother’s tone

IN REMEMBRANCE

“I had tears in my eyes that day, before I could even go near him, he was dead. I saw his neck snap right off in front of my eyes”

THE

FIRST

STEP

“You’ll have to be very careful when you handle the

squabs, they could instantly die if you put the feed

into their lungs.

They have taught me a lot of patience, I cannot throw

them if they dont listen to me right?” It’s like they

are a part of me”
